The Emergency Trauma Center at Rice Medical Center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to meet the urgent and emergent medical needs of our community and surrounding areas.

Our Emergency Trauma Center is staffed with board-certified emergency physicians, highly experienced nurses, and skilled support staff. This team is dedicated to providing expert, compassionate, and timely treatment for patients of all ages with urgent or life-threatening conditions.

Rice Medical Center is proud to be the first hospital in the State of Texas designated as a trauma facility. We continue to maintain our Level IV Trauma Center designation by meeting and exceeding the Texas Department of State Health Services’ standards of care for trauma. Our staff undergoes specialized trauma training to ensure patients receive the highest-quality care when seconds matter most.
